Next week will see the conclusion of the United Nations’ Appeal for Children. In the Whakatane area £2024 Is lOd has already been collected and prospects are that that will be considerably increased yet. The district treasurer for the appeal, Mr L. D. Lovelock, reports the following collections to date:—
