Scouting Prospects For This Year Are Bright
With a cub troop 40 strong and a scout unit of 12 the chairman of the Whakatane Citizens’ Scout Committee, Mr C. Zinsli, stated in his annual report to the committee that the'prospects for the new year were very good. The bank balance, he said, stood at £IBO and that, with the proceeds of every effort that was made in the next 12 months, would be devoted to the construction of a permanent hall for the boys in the troop.
Reports from the County Commissioner, Mr C. Kingsley-Smith and Troop-leader E. Dockray on the progress of the scouts and cubs were received.
The following officers were elected: President, Mr C. Zinsli; vicepresidents, Messrs J. Carpenter, R. T. Morpeth and H. G. Warren; secretary, Mrs C. Zinsli; auditor, Mr R. Her bison; committee, Rev J. C. J. Wilson, Mr F. Jones, Mesdames Windley, Goodall, Dixon and Bell.
