What a Waste At San Francisco not long ago the world’s largest crane was tested; it has taken three years to build. A 630-ton concrete block, believed to be the heaviest weight ever lifted by a crane, .was hoisted into the air and gently lowered on to an egg without breaking it. Then the block was lowered a little farther, cracking the shell but leaving the yolk unbroken.

Diversional Therapy Work - Miss Audsley Cullen trained Red Cross Therapist, has been at the Whakatane Hospital 'the last two* months instructing Miss G. Sutcliffe who will undertake the work of Diversional Therapist. This scheme is being organised throughout New Zealand by the Red Cross Society with the co-operation of the Hospital Boards concerned. Mr M. Metcalfe of “Dressrite” has loaned his shop window for a display today and tomorrow of articles made by the patients and staff of the Whakatane Hospital.
