Eastern Bay Of Plenty Federation W.I. Meeting

A meeting of the executive committee of the Eastern Bay.of Plenty Federation of Women’s Institutes was held recently in Whakatane, Mrs Armstrong presiding. Before the meeting proper, other W.I. delegates discussed the programme for the* two-day Drama Festival to be held at Taneatua in July. A welcome to new members of the committee was extended by the president.

Officers elected were: Vice-pre-sidents, Mesdames Withy and McCallion; correspondence secretary and treasurer, Mrs Mayo; minutes secretary, Mrs Gardiner; Press correspondent, Mrs Ducker; “Home and Country” correspondent, Mrs Hollard; hostess ,Mrs Hewitt. Mrs Withy Reported on the recent Eisteddfod which was a great success. The judges commented very favourably on the high standard of performance in all sections of the programme.

Reference was made to the Travel” scheme as a party was ready to leave on a North Auckland tour.
