Latest information from thfe Whakatane A.A. ' Office this morning was that the road to Opotiki was passable, but both routes to Gisborne via East Coast and Waioeka Gorge, were closed, as also was the route to Waikaremoana. No. report on the Kotorua and Tauranga roads was available, but they are believed to be open. No serious damage to County roads is reported yet.
