Drama Circle

The annual meeting of the Taneatua W.I. Drama Circle was held at Mrs Gardner’s residence. As Mrs Moore, the president, had resigned and left the district, Mrs Gardner took the chair. The annual report made mention of the visit of the Drama Tutor to the district and of., the Drama evening presented by Mrs Rutherford’s pupils. At the annual Drama Festival the comedy present-, ed by Taneatua was successful in the comedy class and won the silver rose bowl. Gatherings had been held in members’ homes throughout the yean and play readings, acting competitions etc. had provided enter- , tainment. Mrs McDonald was elected president for the new year and Mrs Hayward was re-elected secretary. A play “Five to Five Thirty” was read by Mesdames Hayward, Butler, A. Tebbutt, McDonald and Grey.
