Whakatane Caledonian Society Holds Ingleside

A large gr.oup of Caledonian Society members attended the first Ingleside of the year in the Caledonian Hall, Whakatane, on Saturday night. The evening began with Chief D. Anderson's being piped into the hall by Piper lan MacDonald. Music for the evening was supplied by the Whakatane Pipe Band, Mrs E. Fowell and Miss D. Stewart. M.C. was Mr H. Mole. Items were given by Mrs T. Burke who sang "Granny's Heilan Hame" and by Messrs E. and K. Hay, who gave a mouth organ duet. • - After supper Chief Anderson made a short speech to those present on the hopes and aims of the Society for the coming year. The evening concluded in the traditional Scottish manner with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
