Bowling Club Champion Of Champions Competition Played At Whakatane
The Champion of Champions competition was played at the Whakatane Bowling Club’s greens on Saturday. .This competition, which is for the John Ried Cup, is competed for by the champions of all the clubs in the Bay of Plenty. It was won this year by the Opotiki champion, M. McKillop, who will hold the cup for-12 months. D. Anderson was the runner-up. An Executive Fours competition was also run. This competition is drawn from the executives of, the clubs in the Bay. Te Puke won by 5-o- matches with Opotiki second with 4, then Rotorua 31, Whakatane 3, Opotiki Citizens 2, Tauranga South 2, Taneatua IJ, Ngongotaha 0. The Te Puke team was skipped by the Bay of Plenty executive chairman, Mr O. Knight, and his team was W. Harper, C. Chester and D. Taylor. Other Results , Smith Stars: Merito, Morpeth/ McKenzie, Littlejohn (s> defeated Wilson, Dainton, Butler, .Berg (s).
