Extensive Improvements To Rod And Gun Grounds
Extensive improvements are being carried out by the County Rod and Gun Club at their grounds at Paroa, and it is hoped to have two automatic traps in operation and the pavilion in a better position in time for the Jensen Cup shoot next week. Teams from Rotorua, Tauranga, Opotiki and Te Puke have already indicated that they will be attending, and it is expected that the competition will be unusually keen.
At the moment, dust is likely to be an inconvenience in a high wind, but the new grass that is to be sown over the ground that has been levelled off with a bulldozer should take care of that. With the cost of the levelling at about £l5O, by the time the two traps are set up with all equipment and the pavilion moved to its new position, the improvements will have cost the club approximately £350.
