P. & T. Representatives Lucky To Win Saturday’s Cricket Match At Opotiki
The P. and T. representative cricket team that played Opotiki at Opotiki on Saturday secured a very close win with 168 to 153 in the first innings. For the P. and T. the first three-wickets fell cheaply then Burt went to the crease and made the top score of 60. Malaquin and J. Rivett were the next best scorers with 25 and 26 respectively, the rest of the team were only fair. Opotiki started well and with four wickets down had 122 runs, from then on however the rot set in and all were out for 153. A friendly cricket match between the P. and T. Rangers and the P. and T. Rovers played at the . Domain on Sunday, resulted in a win to Rovers on the innings by 74 runs. Te Teko Defeats Waimana In Collins Shield Match At Whakatane Domain
Te Teko defeated Waimana on the first innings by 12 runs, in a round of the Collins Shield match on Sunday at the Whakatane Domain. Batting for Te Teko J. Porter was the top scorer with 28, the rest of the Te Teko wickets fell very cheaply. Waimana faired little better with G.- Mitchell batting 31 out of the total of 60.
