Fowell —Fenny Wedding: Pink And White Scheme Of Artistic Decoration

The Presbyterian Church at Taneatua had been most artistically decorated in tones of pink and white to match tire colour scheme of the bridal party when Ethel Grace, daughter of Mr and Mrs Len Penny was wedded to James Allan, son of Mrs and the late Mr T. Fowell, of Whakatane. Ropes of pink and white flowers and greenery were festooned from the altar, and pews were decorated with pihk flowers and white satin ribbons. Large bowls of pink and white lilies were used to charming effect. Mr Nummy was the officiating minister. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a beautiful gown of white satin with long sleeves, ana long sweeping train over which fell an embroidered tulle veil, held to the head by a pearl coronet. She carried a shower bouquet of white flowers and fern. Maids in. attendance were Miss Joyce Penny, sister of the bride, and Miss Jill Fowell, sister of the groom, both frocked alike in pink taffeta made with long closely-fit-ting bodices and full skirts. Their shoulder length veils were held in place by coronets of pink beads and flowers. They carried bouquets of pink and blue. The groom was attended by Mr Fred Rawson and Mr Greg Grey. After the ce'remony the .guests were entertained at a reception held in the Tarieatua hall. They were received by the bride and groom, Mr and Mrs Penny and Mrs Fowell and Mr R. Fowell. Mrs Penny wore a navy frock with touches of pink, navy hat and accessories, and a charming shoulder spray while Mrs Fowell wore a smart black suit with black hat and spray in orange and gold tonings. Mr and Mrs Fowell left by car for their honeymoon, Mrs Fowell wearing a peacock green frock with black hat and accessories.

Ohiwa Girl Marries At Opotiki In White Nylon Marquisette

A quiet but pretty wedding took place in the Methodist Church, Opotiki, between Daphne Ann,. only daughter of Mr and Mrs O. Reeve, Ohiwa, and Paul John Kalff, younger son of Mr and Mrs J. J. Kalff, Opotiki. The Rev. L. C. Clements officiated. Mrs Maisey was matron of honour and Miss Betty Wyllie, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid. Sandra Tonne' as flower girl attended her. Mr Les Reeve was best man and Mr Charles Young was groomsman. The bride looked charming in a gown of white nylon marquisette and lace over satin. The only jewellery she wore 'was a double string of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. Her long tulle veil which was beautifully worked was held in place with a halo of pleated nylon trimmed with orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white tiger lilies and tuberoses.

The attendants were in lemon nylon marquisette over satin with slim-fitting bodice on to full gathered skirts, puff sleeves, and double frill around the shoulders. . The flower girl looked sweet in white hailstone muslin over satin' fashioned on similar lines. ; Mr N. H. Reeve acted as . usher. The reception was held in St. Mary’s Hall where over 50 guests were received by Mrs Reeve wearing a green suit in embossed crepe - beaded trimming to tone with hat " and accessories. Mrs -Kalff wore a blue suit with beaded’ trimming. Her hat and accessories were navy blue. Mrs L. Sinclair accompanied by Mr Pearce on the > violin - played some delightful music. : ■/•>'
