Pleasant Coming-Of-Age Party At Otakiri Hall

A party to celebrate the coming-of-age of their daughter Pauline, was given by Mr and Mrs A.- Gilbert in the Otakiri hall on Saturday night. A large crowd of friends were present “and the evening was spent in dancing and playing games. One of the highlights of the evening was a duet by the Anderson sisters, Gay and Leslie, who, accompanied by their father, sang four songs, “In Old Hawaii,” “Carry Me Back To Old Virginia,” “A Maori Welcome” and “Don’t Fence Me In.” Several novelty dances and dancing competitions. were also run during the evening. After supper Mr A. O. Lord made a congratulatory speech to the guest of honour, who replied thanking everypne for coming and making the evening the success it was.
