Beauty Queens To Judge South African Contest
Miss. Audrey Sfcnith, of Birmingham, who was recently chosen as Britain’s “beauty queen” has been invited to go to South Africa to assist in the final judging of “Miss South Africa.” She has cabled her acceptance. Similar invitations have been extended to “Miss America for 1947” and “Miss France.” More than 70 towns in all parts of South Africa are taking the keenest interest in the closing stages of the beauty contest sponsored by the South African Wool Board and a pictorial weekly paper. The winner, in addition to receiving a complete wardrobe, in wool from the South African Wool Board, will be taken to Hollywood, where she will spend a week meeting the stars.
