Penalty On Unpaid Rates

The Whakatane. County Council has announced its intention of adding a 10 per cent, penalty to all Whakatane County and 1946-47 Harbour rates not paid by Wednesday, March 24. Caught Nappfng On Friday it was easy to see that school was pretty close at hand, by the number of people crowding around the drapers’ and stationers’ shops. Apparently the sudden opening of schools took a lot of parents by surprise and drapers considered last Friday one of their busiest days this year, especially in children’s lines.
