Gift Afternoon For Miss Ethel Penny, Bride-To-Be
A very delightful gift afternoon in honour of the approaching marriage of Miss Ethel Penny, was held at the residence of Mrs J. Moody, Taneatua, on Wednesday. Lawn games were very popular and were won by Mrs N. Semmens (clock golf and ladder croquet) and Mrs L. Grey (croquet).
A delicious afternoon tea was served, after which Mrs J. Hayward thanked Mrs Moody for the use of her home for the party and asked Miss Penny to accept a large basket full of parcels from her friends. -
After opening the parcels and displaying the many useful gifts Miss Penny, in well chosen words, expressed her gratitude to all those present.
