Dodds-Dunstan Wedding

Taneatua Bride Will Live At Whakatane

St. Andrew’s Church, Taneatua, was the scene of a charming wedding of considerable local interest recently when Jean Margaret, daughter of Mr and Mrs Dunstan, Taneatua, was married to Basil Tyrel, son of Mrs and the late Mr Dodds, of Whangarei. The church had been decorated with lovely blooms of blue and white to tone with the wedding frocks and the Rev. Nummy was the officiating minister.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a frock of cream embossed satin with a long train falling from the shoulders. The veil, forming a second train, was held to the head with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of cream flowers and fern. Miss Jean Laurie, of Hamilton, who attended the bride, wore a gown of blue embossed with silver. She carried a bouquet of scarlet and wore a blue shoulder length veil caught to the head with a scarlet top knot, the effect being most striking. Best man was Mr J. Budd, Rotorua.

A reception was held in the Taneatua hall where the guests were received by Mrs Dunstan, Mrs Peter Moody (sister of the bride) and Mrs Dodds. Mrs Moody wore a green suit with a spray in autumn tonings and white accessories. Mrs Dodds was smart in a navy frock with red shoulder spray and navy accessories. The hall had been prettily decorated and vases of sweet peas graced the breakfast tables. The beautiful three tiered wedding cake which had been made by Mrs J. Moody was much admired. Mr and Mrs Dodds who will make their future home in Whakatane, left by car for a tour of the North Island the bride travelling in a green frock trimmed with wine and with wine accessories.
