Date For Opening Of Schools Still Indefinite
As yet the Government has made no definite decision on the opening date for schools, but it has been stated by the Minister of Health, Miss Howard, and the Minister ofEducation, Mr McCombs, that it will on no account be before February 10. Normal opening date for primary schools is February 2 and for secondary, technical and combined schools February 3. It is possible that schools in districts not affected by the epidemic may open earlier than schools in other localities, but the Ministerial statement assures parents that all possible notice will be given. Meanwhile, correspondence material has been prepared, and teachers instructed to report back for duty at the usual time.
