British Diet Changes
Striking changes in the consumption of various foods have occurred in Britain since the introduction of rationing. In milk, cheese, margarine, potatoes and fish, consumption is now higher than before the war. On the other hand butter consumption has dropped by 56 per cent, lard and compound cooking fats by 22 per cent, and meat by 15 per cent.
