Presbytery Sustains Call From Knox Church To Dunedin Minister
At a pro re nata meeting of the Bay of Plenty Presbytery a call from Knox Church, Whakatane, to Rev. R. T. Dodds of the South Dunedin Presbyterian Church was sustained and transmitted to the Dunedin Presbytery. The Interim-Mod-erator, the Rev. J. H. Starnes outlined the steps taken to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the Rev. H, M. Bell who is returning to Missionary work in the New Hebrides. Messrs. A. Breward and S. K. Schofield, Commissioners for the Knox Church congregation, appeared in support of the call and expressed the unanimity of the congregation in its desire to have Mr Dodds as minister. If the call is accepted the induc r tion will take place early in April, 1948. The Rev. R. T. Dodds is a returned soldier of two wars, acting as a Chaplain in the recent one, and was inducted to his present charge of South Dunedin in 1934.
