Long Week-End: Most Establishments Closed For Four Days

Business activity will be at a standstill from Wednesday to Monday both this coming week-end and the next.' All retail establishments will close following the late night on Wednesday to re-open on the Monday. With the exception that there will be no late night in their case, the butchers will observe the same close-down as other retailers. Bread will be baked on the Wednesday and again on the Saturday both week-ends.

Postal and money-order branches of the Post Office, including postmen’s deliveries will be closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day and New Year’s Day and January 2. Rural deliveries will be suspended •on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, b,ut will run as usual on Saturday, December 27, Friday, January 2 and Saturday, .January 3. The telegraph branch will be closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day, New Year’s'Day and January 2, but will be open from 9 a.m. to 11.30 • a.m. on Saturday, December 27 and Saturday, January 3. There will be continuous attendance at the telephone exchange, where urgent telegrams may be presented during the hours the telegraph office is closed.
