M. Le Pine Makes 162 In Opotiki Match
Whakatane United played the Opotiki Club on Saturday and lost by 135 runs'bn the Ist innings. M. Le Pine turned on the star performance of the day, knocking up 162 in a first wicket partnership with L. R. Spring in United’s second innings. Spring had made 46 not out when stumps were drawn. Following is a summary of the scores:— Whakatane United Ist innings 94, M. Le Pine 23, L. R. Spring 22. J. Collins 5 for 18, E. Wells 4 for 35. , 2nd innings 210 for 1 wicket. M. Le Pine 162, L. R. Spring 46 not out. Opotiki Ist innings 229. S. Warren 74, S. Badeley 34, J. Holman 35, R. Mason 29. W. Crawford 3 for .27.
