Bell & Coates Winners Of Bowling Club’s Handicap Pairs
E. T. Bell (lead), and C. R. Coates (skip) have ’won the Whakatane Bowling Club’s annual handicap pairs. The competition with thirtytwo competing pairs, concluded on Saturday, when the finalists, H. L. King and A. White (s) with two ‘lives’ met Bell-and Coates (s) one lifers. (Score, 24—19). In the final game the green was keener, and apparently suited the winners, Bell arid Coates, whose steady, drawing gave them a second and decisive win over their opponents.
