November Meeting Of Whakatane Women’s Institute

At the November meeting of the Whakatane Women’s Institute quite a long discussion took place on. Group Travel, but it was decided to hold the decision over until next meeting when the Institute hopes to have more particulars about it.

Exhibits for the A. and P. Show Court were discussed and arrangements were made with members to provide articles. A very pleasing announcement was that the Institute’s small building would be ready for use this month. Five new members were enrolled. Two letters from Mrs K. Stewart were read, one written the day before landing in England' and the other written from Scotland. It was announced that the Arts and Crafts Circle will be holding its usual novelty stall at the December meeting, which is also the children’s day for which members were asked to bring extra plates. Competitions winners were: Sausage Rolls, Mrs Fennell; Gladioli, Mrs K. Needham; Lettuce, Mrs Fennell.
