WHAKATANE CLUB ' • PREPARING FOR TOURNAMENT With the final tournament at Whakatane on November Ist drawing nearer, the boys at the gym. are training hard and hope to be among those selected to compete. Bill Penny hopes to get a return fight with W. Webby of Rotorua. Their last fight at Rotorua on the 30th of last month was a great bout and Bill Penny was unlucky not to get the decision. If the bout is included in the programme, Whakatane fans will see an interesting fight. lan McKenzie is another boy who had his first fight at Rotorua, which he won convincingly. He also hopes to get another fight on November 1. John Butcher who has been a very keen pupil, is a novice, and eager for a fight. Other boys who have trained hard include Jim Lowe, Tai Hona, Ron Wood and Guy Francis.
