WINTER SHOW

NEXT YEAR’S FIXTURE ELECTRIC GENERATOR EQUIPMENT The Winter Show Committee is looking w*ell ahead, or so it would appear from the request they lodged with the Borough Council on Monday. A diesel generating plant similar to that used at the hospital would probably be available from the Air Department but such a plant would be hired only to a local body. The board requested that the council assume responsibility for the machine ' while it was in Whakatane and that the Winter Show Committee pay all expenses incurred through the hiring and use of it. Councillors recognised the necessity of assisting the Winter Show along and approved the hire of the plant, the Winter Show Association to pay hire and other charges incurred.
