English Ad Prices Sky-Rocket Following Newsprint Cuts
Due to the drastic cuts of newsprint importations, the size of newspapers in Great Britain has had to be greatly reduced. This has resulted in the reduction of columns of advertising space and loss of revenue to newspapers. According to the Newspaper News, Sydney, the latest rates for advertising in the London papers, per single column inch, per issue, are as follows: News Chronicle £l2, Daily Herald £l4, Daily Mail £ls, Daily Express £2O, Evening News £l2 10s, Evening Standard £9, The Star £9, The People (Sunday) £2O. The Radio Times is £3360 per page per issue, based on one-eighth page minimum.
