Poor Attendance At Swimming Club Meeting
His keen disappointment at the poor attendance was expressed by the acting chairman of the Whakatane Amateur Swimming Club, at the annual meeting of that body last night. In the absence of the President, Mr A. H. Morpeth through illness, Mr R. S. Buttimore presided. A lengthy list of apologies was received.
Officers elected were: Patron, Mr H. G. Warren; president, Mr A. H. Morpeth; vice-president, Mr A. D. McLay; secretary-treasurer, Mr R. S. Buttimore; -auditor, Mr R.'Riddell; executive committee, Messrs. G. Stenhouse, R. Chadwick, J. Slipper, J. Whitehead, G. Gartshore, R. Riddell, Mesdames H. D. Wilson, R. Morpeth and McLay; club captains, Mr R. Chadwick and Mrs R. Moreth.
