Tennis Opening The opening day of the Knox Tennis Club was held last Saturday afternoon in indifferent weather. The President, Rev. H. M. A tournament was commenced, but rain compelled its abandonment later in the afternoon.

School children have become intensely road-safety conscious as a result of the instruction given in the schools and the work of the school safety patrols. Emphasising this recently, members of the Automobile Association (Wellington) referred also to the poor example set by adults where school pedestrian crossings were concerned. School safety patrols, operating with special stop signs, had authority to stop children from crossing the road until the road was clear, and also had authority to stop traffic.
