NATIONAL PARTY

MEETING AT OHOPE

A well attended meeting of National Party members was held at the Hostel, Ohope, on Saturday afternoon.

Members and friends from Whakatane visited Ohope to meet the local ladies to arrange a branch of the Women’s Section of the National Party. Owing to the absence of Miss North, President of the Whakatane Branch Women’s Section, Mrs Gartshore opened the meeting explaining the object of the gathering and then called on Mr W. Sullivan, M.P. Mr' Sullivan gave an interesting address on Party matters and spoke of the importance of the work done by the Women’s Section. A very enjoyable afternoon tea was served'and gave an opportunity to exchange ideas. It was arranged to have a meeting of the branch at an early date.

Mrs Gartshore closed the meeting by thanking Mr Sullivan for his address and all those who had attended. She offered best wishes to the Ohope ladies for the success of their branch.
