THE SHALFOON SHIELD RAN GIT AIKI’ S FINE RECORD Considerable interest attaches the forthcoming junior match between Rangitaiki (holders) and Whakatane juniors reps., at Matata on Saturday for the Shalfoon Shield. Rangitaiki won the trophy last year and today has held it against all challengers including Rotorua, Tauranga and Opotiki. Whakatane has built up a particularly fine junior combination this year and the clash on Saturday should produce fine, willing football. The winners will meet Te Puke the following Saturday. HOCKEY TEAMS FOR WEEKEND Following is the men’s team to play Opotiki on Saturday and Edgecumbe on Sunday at the Whakatane Domain.

A working bee in preparation for the games will be held at the Domain at 9.30 on Saturday and all members are asked to attend.
