WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MATATA MEETING The June meeting of the Matata Women’s Institute was held in the King’s Theatre i-ecently. There was a’ good attendance of members and two new members were enrolled. It was decided that parcels be sent urgently to the link in England, a spec ial fund being set up for this purpose. Members were treated to a very interesting and enlighting talk about the Lepers on Makogai by Mr Thompson one of the most prominent men in the mission. The. meeting closed with a very dainty afternoon tea. Hostesses for the afternoqp were Miss M. Burt and Mrs Smith. Competition results were as • follows: Best flower: Mrs Ansel 1. Best vegetable: Mrs Baguley 1, Mrs Conn 2.
