, Notification has been received by the Borough Council that Mr W. R. Cutler, V.C., Australian Trade Commissioner, will be visiting Whakatane on 27th and 28th July. The Mayor (Mr B. S. Barry) and Town Clerk (Mr L. D. Lovelock) have been appointed to investigate the possibility of tendering the visitor a complimentary luncheon in order to enable him to address a gathering of businessmen and residents.

On the conclusion of his services as a relieving worker of the Presbyterian Maori Mission the committee expresses its thanks 'to the Rev. W R. Fraser for the work he has done first as an honorary Home Missionary at Wanganui and later in various appointments as a relieving Missionary and commends him for the zeal and energy he has displayed in these various assignments of duty. The committee prays that he may be blessed with continued good health, and that he, may have much happiness in the coming years as a private member of the Church.
