WOMEN’S DIVISION

AWAKEEI BRANCH " RECENT MEETING The Awakeri branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers held their meeting in the Awakeri Hall, Mrs Haultain presiding. The meeting opened with the reading of the Creed. Quite a lot of business was put through and the sending of a delegate to the conference was agreed to, Mrs Norman Carter being elected. Arrangements weer made for the birthday party in July it was decided to have an evening .meeting. The amusement part of the programme was in the hands of Mrs Colin McKenzie and was very much enjoyed. The serving of afternoon tea concluded the meeting. Competitions for the day were as follows:

Best fruit: Mrs Knight 1, Mrs D. McDonald 1, Mrs N. McDonald 3. Best flower: Mrs D. McDonald 1, Mrs L. Carter 2, Mrs C. McKenzie 3.

Best vegetable: Mrs McGougan 1, Mrs Brizzle 2, Mrs Barr 3.
