POST OFFICE ADDITIONS
NEW TEMPORARY BUILDING ARMY TYPE HUT An Army-type steel hut has been erected at the rear of the Whakatane Post Office and work on the interior of it is now being carried out. Possibly later in July some of the work of the Post Office will be transferred to this temporary building as a means of relieving congestion in the main office.
Access to the temporary building wil be from the Strand. As a consequence the former entrance for vehicles from the Strand has been closed up. All vehicles will now enter the Post Office yard froln Quay Street.
