CAR RE-LICENSING

POST OFFICE KEPT BUSY June is a particularly busy month for the Whakatane Post Office, for there is a constant stream of motorists engaged in re-licensing their motor-vehic-les. Probably 2000 motorists will have relicensed their vehicles at Whakatane by the end of the month. So far it appears that only a small proportion of them have visited the Post Office to make application for labels to fix to their windshields.

While in pre-war days, considerable congestion occurred during the last week, there now appears to be an increasing tendency on the part of the motoring public to lodge applications earlier.

The plates already affixed to vehicles will not be replaced this yeai', the war-time practice of indicating relicensing by means of a windshield transfer having been reverted to.
