ROTARIANISM
WHAKATANE CLUB LUNCHEON ‘A JOB FOR EVERYBODY’ Adopting its world-wide slogan ‘A Job For Everybody’ Rotarianism appears to be digging in well in Whakatane, where the local club held its second luncheon last Wednesday at the Heads tearooms. Twenty-two members attended, and President H. G. Warren presided again over a very successful gathering. The question of setting up the sub-committees covering the four services of Rotary was discussed and referred to the executive. They will be announced later. Arrangements for the Whakatane Club’s ‘Charter Night’ were likewise discussed and it is anticipated that this all-impor-tant event will take place next month. It is also hoped to revisit Te Aroha, the club which sponsored the formation of the Whakatane Club during the May school holidays. Apologies for absence were received from Rotarians A. J. Canning, R. Morpeth, S. Tippett and C. Hudson. ' .&• .
Letters of congratulation were received from the Rotorua, Taumarunui, Morrinsville, Te Awamutu and Hawera Clubs, and a special letter of commendation from Rotarian Ilott, Past Vice-President (International).
The fixing of the future meetingdates and their venue occupied some time, it being finally decided to refer the matter to the executive, all present having indicated that Wednesday would be most suitable. Members will be notified accordingly as. to final arrangements.
