TRAFFIC OFFENDERS
The County Traffic Inspector prosecuted in two instances of speeding at the Magistrates’ Court May sitting yesterday. Gordon Bennett, who pleaded guilty to driving a car on the Onepu road in excess of 40 m.p.h., was fined £3 and costs (22/6). A. M. Wrathall (Mr. Suckling) pleaded guilty to driving a Government vehicle at an excessive speed at Awakeri. His defence was that he was running late and endeavouring to make up time. Fined £2, and costs (22/6).
