RED CROSS

WHAT IS THE RED CROSS? It is an International Organisa-tion—sixty-three countries are part of it, and its members number over sixty millions. Its aims are—Relief of Distress, Prevention of Disease and Mitigation of Suffering Anywhere—in War or Peace. It takes no cognizance of colour of creed or of politics, it’s only criterion is: Is Help Needed? Its workers are for the greater part voluntary; it’s finances donated voluntarily or raised by voluntary effort. ' It is the Heart of Humanity. HOW YOU CAN HELP . . . The stupendous work of Red Cross for Sick and Wounded and Prisoners of War, the thousands of garments made or collected, and packed and food paixels despatched for Overseas Relief speaks volumes for its workers. However there are many who through ties of family, business -or perhaps, ill-health, are unable to assist by actual work; but ALL can help by becoming financial members.' The subscription is within the reach of all—2/6 per annum, or less than one half-penny per week. Not very much to you but a number of half-crowns from all over the Dominion keeps your Red Cross doing its part. Annual subs, are now due —WILL YOU PLEASE HELP? —-(P.8.A.).
