REGENT THEATRE
“SARATOGA TRUNK” A lusty, turbulent, romantic picture of America’s awakening to her potential wealth and power in the latter half of the nineteenth century, is vividly portrayed in Warner Bros.’ ne film drama of love and adventure, ‘Saratoga Trunk,”, which screens at the Regent Theatre. Starring Gary Cooper and the year’s most acclaimed actress, Ingrid Bergman, the film ■ also sfeature Flora Robson, Jerry Austin, John Warburton, Florence Bates and Curt Bois in varied and unusual supporting roles. “Saratoga Trunk’s” main story thread links two of the most flamboyant characters ever to step out of any novel, in a saga of adventure and romance that uses exotic Creole New Orleans an wide-open, plush Saratoga as its locale. Adapted for the screen by Casey Robinson from Edna Ferber’s novel by the same name, this story of Clio Dulaine (played by Ingrid Bergman) and Clint Maroon (played by Gary Cooper) is as bizarre and intriguing as its leading characters.
