WHAKATANE SCHOOL APPEAL The Parent and Teachers’ Association report that since the present drive for funds for the film projector commenced, the sum of £49 6s Bd, including the proceeds from the copper trail amounting to £ls 5s lid has been received to date. This, together with the sum of £4O previously subscribed brings the grand total to £B9 6s Bd, towards the cost of the machine totalling £l5O. The appeal closes on May 9 and a cordial invitation is extended not only to all parents, but also to anyone interested in the educational, social and physical welfare of the children, to make an early contribution. Social Evening An invitation is extended to parents, supporters and others interested, to attend the next social evening to be held at the school on June 16, 1947, when a programme of films will be shown with the new sound projector.
