GENEROUS GESTURE

SCHOOL SOUND PROJECTOR RESIDENT GUARANTEES £l2O Efforts by the Whakatane Parent-Teacher Association to secure a modern sound projector for the school will be made shortly by means of a circular appeal to all parents of children attending. Already the Association has in hand some £4O, and this will go towards the sum of £l6O which is the total cost involved.

At the last meeting Mrs H. D. Wilson, Haig Street, offered to find the balance in order that no time would be lost in securing a 6 mm. Kodak which was now procurable. Her generous offer was accepted with thanks and every effort will be made to wipe off the school’s debt to Mrs Wilson as quickly-as possible. It is anticipated to do this that a rough levy of 3/- per head on all pupils will be required.
