SOCIAL EVENING AND FLOWER SHOW In spite of the boisterous weather there was a good attendance of members and friends at the social evening and flower display held on March 25. Time passed all too quickly. Games were played and Mr Rust entertained with conjuring and card tricks. Mr Anderson of the Awakeri School showed some motion pictures which were very much enjoyed. There was a large display of beautifully arranged flowers and there were good entries in the decorated bowl competitions. The prize winners were as follows: Best bowl under 6 inches: Mrs L. Carter 1; Mrs Wilson 2; Mrs N. Carter 3. Best bowl • over 6 inches: Mrs L. Carter 1; Mrs Roberts 2. Best flower: Mrs Roberts 1; Mrs Jensen 2; Mrs Matchitt 3. Best fruit: Mrs Matchitt 1; Mrs Roberts 2; Mrs Rust 3.. Best vegetable: Mrs Wilson 1; Mrs Jensen 2; Mrs Barr 3. Best collection of vegetables: Mrs Hoyland 1; Mrs Rust 2. A Bring and Buy stall was well patronised and a dainty supper concluded a pleasant evening.
