SCHOOL COMMITTEE

MARCH MEETING FULL ATTENDANCE There was a full attendance at the March meeting of the Whakatane School Committee. Mr J. W. Wilson was in the chair. School Water Supply Accounts totalling £2B were passed for payment. Concern was expressed at the particularly high account for water supplied to the school and it was decided to institute check readings on the water meter. Various matters arising out of the visiting committee’s report were discussed. Fire Damage * An estimate of £lO for damage in the recent fire in the technical department was passed and forwai'ded to the Education Department for approval. Roll The total roll for primary and secondary departments and including .the Ohope side school was given as 841.
