BAND CONCERT
ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME IN AID OF CONTEST FUNDS With the object of raising funds to enable them to travel to Te Aroha to compete in the South Auckland Band contest the Whakatane Citizens’ Band held a very successful concert in the King Street Hall on Thursday, April 3. As a result of>, the function a sum of over £3O was raised towards this end. There was a good attendance and a feature which was very pleasing to the members of the band was the interest taken by the Women’s Institute. The Institute choir was in attendance and contributed several excellent items to the programme. Programme The programme was as follows: Band: March, Vale Royal. Solo: G. Skelton. Choir: Nymphs and Shepherds. Solo: P. Moore. Band: March, Death or Glory. Solo: M. Hunter. Solo: P. Ward. Interval. Band: Selection, Echoes of the Empire. Solo: J. Miles. Solo: B. Skelton. Choir: Now on Land and Sea Descending and Brahm’s Cradle Song. Solo: K. Jarrett. Solo: L. Broadmore. Band: Hymn. National Anthem.
