Concrete Footpaths
A tender of 10/9 per square yard for the construction of concrete footpaths at Taneatua was received at the March meeting of the Whakatane County Council. This quotation did not include the grading of asphalt of the existing footpath or the removal of the asphalt. The engineer reported that another contractor had phoned him and stated that he was prepared to accept the contract at the price of 9/- per square yard. A written tender to this effect was being forwarded. It was resolved that that if the tender was received in accordance with the engineer's re* port that it be accepted and referred to the Public Works Department for approval.
