SEED OF GOODWILL
AMERICAN GIRL SCOUTS’ PLAN
The Girl Scouts of America have never isolated themselves from the rest of the world. It would not have been easy for them to do so, because of naturally frequent communication with their prototypes, Girl Guides, Eclaieuses, and others overseas. V
This winter they have carried on a particularly appropriate activity which they call “Seeds of Good Will. It consists in purchasing packets of seeds of one kind or another and sending them in shipment quantities to Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Holland, Norway, Greece and many other countries whose good earth has grown little but dragon seed of late.
Wholesale seed companies have co-operated generously in charging low prices. To each country has been sent the particular kind of food seed the area most needs. These seeds will bear more than material • fruit. As they go into the ground, so will go into the hearts of both givers and recipients further seeds of the democratic idea. And who knows how abundant may be the fruit of this sowing?
