PLUNKET GARDEN PARTY
TOMORROW at the residence of Mrs A. Knights, King Street, a special Garden Party will be held in aid of the local branch of the Plunket Society. There is no need to emphasise here, the magnificent work which is being carried out by this hard-working band of ladies, who have as their motto ‘Save the Babies.’’ Hundreds, possibly thousands of mothers in the district have had reason to be thankful to the Plunket service, which is dedicated to the rearing of healthy young New Zealanders along systematically tried and proven lines. The public has recognised its work in the past and can be relied upon to give generous support tomorrow, when besides a baby competition there will be produce stalls, and cakes and sweets on sale. The ‘Candid Camera’ will also be in attendance for the benefit of mothers desiring to record the babyhood of their children. Donations will be warmly appreciated.
