Whakatane names are mentioned first:— Ladies’ Singles: Miss M. Howat lost to Miss J. Burke 9/2; Miss M. Hall beat Miss M. Robins 7/1; Mrs Lovelock lost to Miss A. Luttrell 7/2. Men’s Singles: I. Wylds lost to R. Lees 4/6, 1/6; P. 'Bryers lost to M. Lees 3/6, 2/6; G. Gordon lost to B. Peni 6/5, 5/6, 0/6; E. Wilson lost to G. Horwood 6/3, 1/6, 5/6; W. Rutherford beat R. Civil 6/2, 6/0.
