KINDNESS APPRECIATED

LETTER FROM YUGOSLAVIA DRESS PARCEL ACKNOWLEDGED The appreciation of the war victims of Europe for the gift parcels despatched from this country from time to time is well illustrated by the following letter received by Miss Gay Sutcliffe of Victoria Avenue, Whakatane, from Miss Ljubica Tasic, of Nis. Katiceva No. 22 who received a dress in a recent parcel despatched from Whakatane and bearing the sender's name. The letter which has been translated by an officer of the Yugoslav Embassy, Auckland, reads as under:—

Your dress which you sent has fallen to my share. lam heartily grateful to you. We are delighted when we wear yours. We have not much, for the Germans got away with ours. All that is not wanted, and you do not need and what you would throw away, send to us. We would be grateful for it, we know that you have plenty. I shall wear your dress all the coming winter for I have no other to wear. If you write to me I will send you my photograph, and I should like you to send me yours, so that I can see my benefactor.

I am interested to know whether ou can read my letter.
