LOCAL PROSECUTIONS

Before -Mr E. L. Walton, S.M. in r the. Whakatane Court yesterday Kennedy Lawson pleaded guilty to driving without care and attention on the Waimana main highway on the evening of November 16 last. Sergeant Farrell explained that defendant was riding his motor cycle and being dazzled by the sunset had collided with an oncoming car. Fined 20s and costs 21s.

The Transport', Department proceeded against Norman Andrews for driving his motor cycle at a speed well in excess of the regulations. Inspector Sharp said that he had checked the motor cycle at 40 m.p.h. nearly the whole length of Commerce Street. • Fined £2 and costs 15s.
